For optimal burn:
- On the first burn, light the candle for at least 2-3 hours until the melted wax reaches near the edge of the candle.

- Between burns, trim the wick to ¼ inch (5mm). After extinguishing the candle, pinch off a small amount of the wick using your fingers or a wick trimmer. Trimming the wick ensures an even burn with a clean flame. A wick that is too long may produce smoke and cause the wax to overflow.

- Do not burn the candle for more than 3 hours at a time, as the longer wick can create an unstable flame that may smoke and cause the wax to overflow.

- Regularly "hug" your candle while burning. Gently press the taller edges of the candle towards the center. Be cautious not to apply too much pressure, and it is best done while the wax is still warm. Hugging the candle ensures that the flame consumes the wax evenly, avoiding a tall wall of wax and preventing leaking from the sides, thus optimizing the burn.
